While losing weight I'd take 2 days off a month. I was reading how this person didn't agree with taking meals or days off because 1 serving of Bloomin' Onion at the Outback was a full days calories. I was curious. We don't have that restaurant in Quebec so I looked online. I found a copy cat recipe. I tried making the whole onion and it was pretty but rings are so much easier and just as tasty. Oh, we halved the dipping sauce so you'd have to eat twice the sauce and a whole large sweet onions worth to get a full days calories.
Bloomin Onion Rings
Dipping Sauce:
Mix:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp ketchup
1 tbs cream-style horseradish
1/8 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp salt
Dash tsp dried oregano
Dash ground black pepper
Rings:
In one bowl mix:
1 egg
1 cup milk
In another mix:
2 cup all-purpose flour
1 Tbs salt
1 tsp ground black
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp cumin
Cut 1 large sweet onion cut into rings.
Dip rings into milk then flour back to milk then flour. Use a different hand for the wet and dry. Place rings on plate until enough to fry. Fry in deep fryer till browned.
